EMAUNIVRSE
Emma Grace Firmiss
poet | artist | professional dreamer
Emma is a poet, musician, novelist and artist based in Boise, Idaho. She is a junior at Boise State University where she majors in creative writing and minors in philosophy. She has also previously studied fine art as an undergraduate at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her work explores the parameters of consciousness and the existence of it, as well as various religious themes (most predominately Catholicism), femininity, surrealism, and nature. She challenges the many barriers of creativity through experimental pursuits and her use of intuitive risk-taking.
Emma’s creative process is a symbiotic experience. Her visual art and poetic practices, whether it be in poetry, music, or creative stories, form a relationship with each other and allow them the space to build upon the foundations of love and art. These connections are imperative to her growth as an artist and the work in and of itself.
